Russell Howard Reveals Tragic Death of Baby Son Felix
Comedian Russell Howard has revealed that his baby son, Felix, died earlier this year, shortly after his wife, Cerys, gave birth.
In a statement, Howard said he and his wife had endured “unimaginable heartache” and described the loss as “the most devastating time of our lives.”
The comedian also paid tribute to the hospital staff who cared for the family following Felix’s death, praising their “extraordinary compassion, kindness and humanity” during an incredibly difficult period.
Howard has now announced the creation of a new foundation in memory of his son, aimed at supporting families facing similar tragedies. A comedy fundraiser is also planned for next year.
Reflecting on their time in hospital, Howard said Felix was placed in a cool cot, allowing him and Cerys to spend precious time with their son.
“We could hold him, talk to him and tell him how much we loved him,” Howard said. “Those hours are among the most precious memories we have of Felix.”
The couple had not publicly revealed that they were expecting their second child before Felix’s birth.
