Felix Cameron Reveals the Lessons He Learned From His Famous Co-Stars
Boy Swallows Universe star Felix Cameron has opened up about the valuable lessons he has learned from working alongside some of Australia’s biggest acting names.
The 17-year-old has already built an impressive resume, appearing alongside Andrew Lincoln in the 2020 film Penguin Bloom, Bryan Brown in the 2024 drama series Boy Swallows Universe, and Patrick Brammall in the upcoming Apple TV thriller Last Seen.
But Cameron says the most important lessons he picked up from his veteran co-stars did not come from their performances or advice. Instead, he learned by watching how they behaved behind the scenes.
Cameron made his screen debut at just 10 years old in Penguin Bloom, where he worked with British star Andrew Lincoln. He remembers Lincoln treating him like a peer and playing table tennis with him during breaks.
“It’s more stuff that you pick up from them, the way they treat people around them, and then the way they treat you,” Cameron said.
He also praised Bryan Brown for the calm and respectful way he carried himself on the set of Boy Swallows Universe.
“I remember Bryan was always so calm on set,” Cameron said. “He would always treat people with such respect, even when there were high tense moments and you didn’t have much time to get a shot through.”
Those experiences have now influenced Cameron’s own approach to acting.
While filming Last Seen, where he plays Tommy Brenton, Cameron found himself in the unusual position of becoming a mentor to newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes, who was making her screen debut.
“Ironically, in this, I was able to play the older person with Chloe because she hadn’t really done anything before,” he said.
For Cameron, the experience offered a chance to pass on some of the patience and support he had received from the experienced actors he worked with earlier in his career.
As he continues to take on bigger roles, the young actor appears determined to carry those lessons with him both on and off the screen.
