“SOUTH PARK” WINS AN EMMY — THEN DELIVERS A SAVAGE TRUMP JOKE
South Park has added another Emmy to its collection—and wasted no time turning the victory into a joke aimed at President Donald Trump.
The Comedy Central animated series won Outstanding Animated Program on Sunday for its episode “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” which heavily satirized Trump and even portrayed him in bed with Satan.
Following the win, the show’s social media account shared an image of its animated version of Trump holding the Emmy alongside the message: “You finally got your Emmy.”
The joke references Trump’s long-running frustration with the Emmys. The Apprentice received Emmy nominations in 2004 and 2005 but never won, something Trump has complained about publicly over the years.
Sunday’s victory marked South Park’s fifth Emmy win in the Outstanding Animated Program category.
After years of waiting, Trump finally got his Emmy—he just had to enter the world of South Park to get it.
