Lionel Richie Home and Recovering After Hospitalization
Lionel Richie is back home and recovering after being hospitalized following a weekend concert, ABC News has confirmed.
The “Hello” singer reportedly went to the hospital as a precaution after headlining a summer concert in St. Louis. A source close to Richie’s tour said he checked himself in “out of an abundance of caution.”
Richie performed at The Muny’s annual summer finale on Saturday night. According to reports, some concertgoers noticed the singer appeared to struggle toward the end of the performance and sang his final song, “All Night Long,” while seated.
The hospitalization comes just over two months after Richie experienced dizziness onstage during the opening night of his tour with Earth, Wind & Fire in Minnesota on June 24. Videos from that performance showed the singer continuing the concert while seated.
Following the incident, Richie postponed two shows in Columbus, Ohio, and Chicago after doctors advised him to rest and focus on returning to full health.
He returned to the stage on June 30 for a performance with Earth, Wind & Fire in Pittsburgh.
Richie is also expected to continue with his rescheduled tour dates, as well as his “King of Hearts” performances at the Wynn in Las Vegas in October and November.
For now, the legendary singer is home and focused on his recovery.
