DOLLY PARTON’S NIECE LEAVES FANS IN TEARS!

Dolly Parton’s Niece Delivers Emotional Grand Ole Opry Tribute Just Days After Her Death

Just four days after the death of country music legend Dolly Parton, her niece Jada Star stepped onto one of her aunt’s most cherished stages to honor her memory.

On August 29, Star performed at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville as part of a special tribute celebrating Parton’s extraordinary life and legacy.

Parton died at the age of 80 on August 25, following what her representatives described as a brief battle with cancer.

For Star, the performance was deeply personal. She chose to sing “The Orchard,” a song she had previously recorded with Parton for the 2024 family album Smoky Mountain DNA: Family, Faith and Fables.

Star originally wrote the song for Parton and their family. Its lyrics center on family, generations and the memories passed down through loved ones, making the performance especially poignant so soon after Parton’s death.

Following the emotional rendition, Star thanked the audience and her cousins, reassuring them that the family would find a way through their grief.

A Night Dedicated to Dolly

Star had announced ahead of the event that she would perform “The Orchard,” acknowledging how difficult it would be to step onto a stage so closely associated with her aunt.

The tribute concert featured a star-studded lineup, including Carly Pearce, Kathy Mattea, Ketch Secor, Molly Tuttle, Channing Wilson and Belle Frantz, who made her Grand Ole Opry debut during the special evening.

The emotional night concluded with a performance of Parton’s iconic hit “9 to 5,” bringing together performers from the evening. The finale also featured a surprise appearance by Jelly Roll.

Parton’s relationship with the Grand Ole Opry stretched back decades. According to the Opry, she was introduced to the legendary Nashville institution by Johnny Cash when she was just 13 years old.

The venue would eventually become an important part of her remarkable career.

Continuing the Parton Family Legacy

For Star, the tribute was also a continuation of her family’s musical tradition.

Born Jada Andersen, she is the daughter of Parton’s sister Freida, one of Dolly’s 11 siblings. Like her famous aunt, Star pursued a career in music, releasing her debut album Long Way Home with her friend Barry J in 2018.

After Parton’s death was announced on August 25, Star said she planned to step away from social media for about a week to spend time grieving with her family.

Her appearance at the Grand Ole Opry became a powerful way to honor Parton — not simply through memories or speeches, but through a song created for their family and performed on a stage that meant so much to Dolly.

For one emotional evening, music allowed Parton’s family, friends and fans to celebrate the legacy she left behind.
