DAVID HARBOUR REVEALS THE “SPECIAL” BOND HE SHARES WITH MILLIE BOBBY BROWN
For David Harbour, reuniting with Millie Bobby Brown feels completely natural.
The Stranger Things stars are teaming up once again for a new Netflix spy series, and Harbour says their unique on-screen chemistry made the decision an easy one.
“I go anywhere in the world and people know the relationship of Hopper and Eleven,” Harbour told E! News at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sept. 6. “There’s something about that I thought was so special.”
After spending nearly a decade portraying the beloved father-daughter duo Hopper and Eleven, Harbour said he wanted to bring elements of their dynamic into a completely new story.
Although Stranger Things ended in 2025 after five seasons, the 51-year-old actor said he was eager to continue exploring what makes their partnership work.
“I wanted to use the building blocks of the dynamic between me and her” to create something “really unique and original,” he explained.
Harbour described their professional relationship as one built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to storytelling.
“It really is a working relationship, where we love what we bring out in each other,” he said. “You’re in service of a greater story, and we both know how to do that and think about that and talk about that.”
He added, “I love what we have together and I love to be able to see her on a daily basis.”
According to Netflix, the untitled series will follow a disgraced FBI agent who is forced back into the field after his estranged daughter, Rebecca, also an FBI agent, disappears during a mission.
Harbour and Brown, 22, will both star in the series and serve as executive producers.
Brown’s husband, Jake Bongiovi, is also attached as an executive producer, while Emmy-winning Adolescence writer Jack Thorne is writing the script. Thorne previously worked with Brown on the Enola Holmes films.
Harbour teased that the project is already moving forward, revealing that two scripts have been completed.
“It’s very unexpected and we’ve come up with something that I’m very, very proud of,” he said. “We’ve gotten two scripts in already and I’m really, really excited about it.”
For fans who grew attached to Hopper and Eleven, the new series could offer another chance to see Harbour and Brown bring their special chemistry to the screen—this time in a completely different story.
