BRIDGERTON STAR LUKE NEWTON’S GIRLFRIEND SPEAKS OUT AFTER FACING ONLINE HATE

Bridgerton star Luke Newton and his girlfriend, professional dancer Antonia Roumelioti, are pushing back against the harsh online criticism she has received throughout their relationship.

Roumelioti, 25, addressed the issue in an Instagram Stories statement on September 5, saying she has faced “relentless scrutiny” and what she described as numerous false claims about herself and those close to her.

“For the past three years, I have faced relentless scrutiny and countless false narratives about both myself and the people closest to me,” she wrote. “Although speaking out may not change anything, I will no longer ignore this unacceptable behavior.”

The dancer also reminded social media users that they do not know her personally or understand the details of her private life beyond her relationship with Newton, whom she began dating publicly in 2024.

“Following someone’s life does not give you the right to spread lies, make cruel comments or tear another woman down,” Roumelioti said. She added that the level of hatred directed toward women online is “deeply disturbing.”

“Words have consequences,” she continued, acknowledging that while she is fortunate to have the strength and support to deal with the criticism, that does not make such behavior harmless.

Newton has also responded to the negativity, urging people to stop using social media to spread hate and instead show more kindness toward his girlfriend.

The couple has largely kept their relationship private while occasionally sharing glimpses of their romance with fans.
